Congratulations to , Youthsayers member , Mebrakh Haughton- Johnson . He has just passed 2 grade 8 music exams on alto sax and clarinet with 2 distinctions . Mebrakh has been offered places at Royal College of Music, Guildhall , Trinity Laban , Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.

We had a great time making music with the Alpha Boys this August . Well done to everybody who took part.  We are aiming to keep the link with the Alpha Institute in Jamaica so look out for further opportunities and events.

RECORDING PROJECT AT SONICA STUDIOS

We are working towards our first studio recording . The sessions will be taking part at Sonica Studios which is an excellent , top quality professional recording studio in South London. Recording dates have not been finalised yet but if you are an 11 to 18 year old musician and want to get involved , get in touch at youthsayers@gmail.com.

Spring Programme

We are running 8 sessions at Raw Material , Brixton on the following dates :

25th Jan , 1st Feb , 8th Feb , 22nd Feb, 1st March  , 8th March , 16th March  , 22nd March. (all Wednesdays from 5pm to 7pm )

Youthsayers Horns at Lambeth Country Show

Our horn section got the chance to perform with Soothsayers and Dub Asante band at Lambeth Country Show as part of a tribute to reggae great Rico Rodriguez. The audience gave them a massive cheer and may said they found it very moving. Somewhere Rico must have been smiling.
